Send Files
Via ftp

We encourage our customers that need to send large files or a large number of files electronically, to contact us about setting up an ftp account. Ftp stands for file transfer protocol; it allows the user to move files directly onto our file server across the internet. It is much more reliable than email attachments, and in the case of large files, allows you to continue a partially finished download in the event that you are disconnected during transfer. Listed at the bottom of the page are links to freeware/shareware ftp clients.
However, if all you need to send is a small file quickly, you can still use email attachments.

When sending files to our ftp server we ask that you please use a compression program to zip or stuff the files. At the bottom of the page are links to freeware/shareware programs for both Macintosh and Windows that will do this.

In order to set up an ftp account we ask that you call us at 319-277-2616 or 800-670-7713 and ask for John Smith or Lance Wente. We can set up, and walk you through testing your ftp account. We will provide you with a secure directory on our server that only you have access to. You can upload to and download from this account. We frequently create pdf proofs of jobs and place them in the customers' download directory so they may retrieve them at their convenience.

When you create an account with us, we will supply you with a username and password. In order to connect to your account, simply launch your ftp client and enter "woolverton.com" (without quotes) for the address, enter your username, i.e. "acme" (without quotes), and finally, enter your password. You do not need to supply a directory or any other information. Once connected you will automatically be placed in your private directory. There will be several folders in your directory, but the only ones you need to use are the UPLOADS and DOWNLOADS folders. Anything you are sending to us should be placed in the UPLOADS folder, and anything you are needing to get from us will be in the DOWNLOADS folder.
